I'm still working my way through the journal though.....it may take me a little time. I try to understand just one paragraph each day while I eat my lunch. My workmates are concerned for me, they say I've started mumbling to myself as I read it.

The address was on a little crumbled up piece of paper inside an old wallet I found in the back of my closet.

What?

I didn’t know there was a national “headquarters” organization of Crawfish Escapades! Shoot, I guess our Louisiana branch being inactive for so long has caused us to slip down a notch in the organizational chart!

Anyway, I got permission from the guy that lives in the house I use to live in during the early 1980’s to dig up the coffee can I buried in the back yard during those days which held the treasury for the Louisiana branch of Crawfish Escapades. When I opened it a whoosh of stale air came out that smelled just like how old beer spilled on the floor of any bar in the French Quarter on Saturday night would smell on Sunday morning around 8 AM when they open up for business again. All I found in the coffee can was some old Falstaff and Dixie beer bottle twist top caps (which were cutting edge back in the day), some loose coin change, an old unused ticket to The Warehouse on Tchoupitoulas Street for the Allman Brothers Band with a hand scribbled note on the back that says “sorry, can’t go - I have a headache”, an old yellowed newspaper clipping about some drunk guys that invaded the WWOZ studio one Friday night and then they ended up getting interviewed by the DJ when OZ was about the size of a closet located over Tipitina’s, a unopened packet of fiddle strings and there was an old unpaid bar tab from The Dungeon with a hand written I.O.U. attached that appears to have Tom T.’s signature on it.

I called The Dungeon and tried to disguise my voice because I was worried that they may remember it back from those days and they said, “wait a minute…you sound like Tom T’s friend!” I came clean and they confirmed that the $35.00 bar tab is still due and has since accrued $2,358.52 in interest.

Please mail a $2,393.52 check to me made out to “Cash”, my other nickname, and I will settle up our account with The Dungeon and close up the Louisiana branch of Crawfish Escapades.

Can you send the check overnight so that it gets here before this Friday night?

I'm just glad you didn't release "I'm Looking Over a Four Leaf Clover" which I believe at the time, was in perfect Capadian harmony. Tell Dan, I know where Cleo is.
