Re: Marse Henry

That is an interesting coat of arms. I have beenresearching the Watterson family since 1980 and have gotten pretty far. My biggest help came when a lady sent me copies of pages from the book "Allridge-aldridge-Bracken-Nesmith families" The pages were about the Watterson family. According to this book three brothers came to America. They were Edward,John and Henry. Henry and John settled in Virginia. Edward went on to Tenn. He homesteaded property there. I have been in contact with a man who still lives onm the land that was homesteaded in 1800. He is M.O.Watterson. Henry was a Captain in the Revolutionary War.

He is my husbands ancestor. John was in Tyron Co. N.C. in 1772. John lived in Augusta Co. until he died in 1791.

I think Marsh Henry was a son of Edward. There is a Expressway and a shopping center in Kentucky named for him. I will answer any questions I can for you Virginia

I'm the great-something grand-nephew of an author and statesman named Henry Watterson (1840-1921). He lived mainly in the South (I know that he definitely lived in Alabama, Tennessee, and Kentucky; but I'm not sure where else he might have lived) until he was elected into Congress. Is it possible that he was a descendant of this family line? If anyone knows anything about him or Wattersons from Texas, I'd appreciate hearing from you.
