ABOUT THE BOOK
Clearly, Igbo language faces an extinction crisis. With fewer speakers and writers, Igbo is critically endangered. It is a profound tragedy of colonialism and neocolonialism as English language seems to have eclipsed Igbo language spoken by about 30 million people that occupy Southeast, Nigeria. Like all languages, Igbo is unique; its grammar complex; and an identity that links its speakers to their deep cultural heritage.
Ezigbo Nwa is an attempt to salvage the decline of Igbo language use among Nigerians at home and in the Diaspora. It targets young people who are more vulnerable in the language extinction crisis. The book challenges parents to join in the struggle to save Igbo language by regular use of the language in their homes with their children. The use of images and biblical illustration make the book an attraction to Igbo people known for their love for ecclesiastical matters
