Has anybody got any ideas of different environments we could create in the water and sand trays. We have just had an underwater one with shells, seaweed, stone, sand and fish, sharks etc., which the children have thoroughly enjoyed and straw, farmyard, animals, tractors in the sandtray instead of sand, but would appreciate any other ideas please.

We recently had soil & plastic insects in the tray instead of sand. The children really enjoyed this & it has helped some of them get over their fears of flies!

we sometimes make ours in to a pond using jelly - we make some at home and some with the children. It's very messy but so much fun. coloured rice is good too!
