Every Child Matters - key outcomes

We received some blurb last week about a meeting about Ofsted inspections in which it said one of the key outcomes was 'children achieving economic wellbeing'. It then said that children under 8 could not achieve economic wellbeing so for this outcome Ofsted would look at the management of the setting. Three of us have read this and none of us understand it. What is this 'economic wellbeing' and what area of management are they talking about? Does anyone know anything about this? It seems it is something they will be looking at when they inspect any of our settings.

Any help welcomed.

Could it mean value for money?

Re: Every Child Matters - key outcomes

Kirsten,
If you look at the everychild matters document it states the five outcomes that are most important to children and young people. They are :- Be healthy, Stay safe, Enjoy and achieve, make a positive contribution and achieve economic well-being.
these are universal ambitions for every child.

Hope this helps if not look online at the document

I think it's in the booklet 'Are You Ready For Your Inspection?'. It shows you how the 14 National Standards fit in to the areas mentioned in the Every Child Matters document. It's in something like that anyway.

ITS ABOUT EVERY CHILD NOT BEING IN POVERTY

for the family as a whole to gain employment and have a decent standard of living and for those children not to experience poverty
