OFSTED

Hi we are due for our OFSTED inspection anytime now!!!!! Has anyone just had one and have any advice or feedback to pass on . Thanks

Re: OFSTED

Hiya yeah we had ours 2 weeks ago!!

Make sure plans are up on the walls.
Make sure obs are up to date.
Make sure staff interact with children when ofsted are there (which I'm sure ur staff do anyway).

Level 2 staff got asked a lot of questions about what goes on in the room & level 3 staff didn't get asked much.

We got asked about child protection & what the policy was for this so make sure ur staff know this.

We also got asked about the standards & what they were so make sure all ur staff know them.

Not sure about management side of things tho.

Hope this helps?

Re: OFSTED

Everything sarah said and make sure you have plans for outside play - big favourite at mo!
It's not just being outside, you have to show the learning intentions, staff roles etc, just as you do for indoors.
Make sure you have planning up to date - sessional, medium and long term (should have that anyway).

STAY CALM!

BEST OF LUCK

Re: OFSTED

We had ours a while back and they wanted to see lots of evidence of multicultural resources.Make sure all the staff including the students know where all the fire extinguishers and fire blankets are!
Our other nursery had theirs recently too and their inspector was a bit of a dragon and went through all the cupboards and picked them up on a few things like the home corner cupboards having too much in! Also each child should have their own individual plate at snack time. Good luck!
