We have just received our money from the government for ELC funding, can we spend this anywhere as we are keen to buy a camera for the children to use?

We had a meeting within our area and the official line was, that the money must ONLY be spent on software which seems a bit silly when you need the computer to use it!
There were many groups that asked the same question about buying a digital camera (and other equipment), which is great to have in the group, but they were told that they couldn't use it for that. We all felt that because it was quite alot of money, it should be spent on equipment to develop the ICT area, not just limit it to software.
It is possible that if they felt the money wasn't spent appropriately, they can ask for it back!
There was another thread on this site a few weeks ago, if you find it, you'll be able to get other peoples view too.

We used ours to buy a digital camera, asked first and was told that it was only to be used to buy software. We made a decision to get the camera and it was the right decision as we have had great fun with it. The children love it!!!
