Music for JK's Videos
Just for fun... Ok, Now John's video diaries are fantastic. But I have one question and one question only. Is anyone else sick of the Proclaimers? I think we, the fans, have to help him out. So our challenge. Can we find the perfect song for John to use on his next video? I'll start us off with the obvious ones, Born To Run - Bruce Springsteen, and Keep On Running - Spencer Davis Group. Anyone? |

Nice one Jon, I just checked out that link. I've never heard that Iron Maiden track before. The lyrics are so apt! Running up that hill - Kate Bush |

Thank you all very much for all the suggestions and to Neal for getting the ball rolling. To be honest the music is the last thing I put on the videos and I've never been a big fan of music. I've never bought a record in my life! So I end up adding the Proclaimers because it's on my computer. Now I'll have to source some of these titles. Does anyone know how the copyright works??? John |

I think every time someone watches one of your videos, you have to pay the Proclaimers.

Basically (along with millions of others), you're breaking the law by including copyright material without the appropriate permissions/licences. In practice (and take this with a pinch of salt because I'm a musician, not a lawyer), I'd say you're probably more likely to be asked to remove the stuff at this stage than sued for everything you've got, but there have been some pretty nasty cases... Search http://www.mcps-prs-alliance.co.uk/Pages/default.aspx for further info, or Google prince crazy dancing baby to see what can happen when people get upset about it! |

I could provide any of the songs suggested for you John. However, that may mean breaking the law to download them, and then again to copy them for you, and then again when you put them on the video!?!? Small fish in a big pond... don't worry about it John! How about a soundtrack of songs all from 'We'll Live And Die In These Towns' by the Enemy... 'Pressure', at the start, then 'Away From Here' as we set off. 'You're Not Alone' as things progress, 'It's Not OK', as they progress a bit more, and then 'Had Enough', at the end. Perfect

Well I reckon the Proclaimers are great. But if you need a replacement, what about 'The Real McKenzies?' Their version of 'Loch Lomond' from the album 'Pissed Tae Th' Gills' is brilliant!! |

another Iron Maiden:lonliness of the Long Distance Runner Tough of the track, With the wind, And the rain that's beating down on your back. Your heart's beating loud And goes on getting louder And goes on even more till the sound Is ringing in your head, With every step you tread, And every breath you take, Determination makes You run, Never stop, Gotta win, gotta run till you drop, Keep the pace, Hold the race, Your mind is getting clearer, You're over halfway there but the miles Just never seem to end As if you're in a dream, Not getting anywhere. It seems so futile. Chorus: Run, on and on, Run, on and on, The loneliness of the long distance runner. I've got to keep running the course, I've got to keep running and win at all costs, I've got to keep going, be strong, Must be so determined and push myself on. Run over stiles, across fields, Turn to look at who's on your heels, Way ahead of the field, The line is getting nearer but do You want the glory that goes, You reach the final stretch, Ideals are just a trace, You feel like throwing the race, It's all so futile. Chorus: Run, on and on, Run, on and on, The loneliness of the long distance runner |

The theme from The Last of the Mohikans, or The Skye Boat Song on Pipes and Drums, now if that doesn't motivate you, nothing will!!
