Post-race meal/drinks?
Has anyone got any plans for after the prize-giving on the 22nd? I was wondering if anyone fancied getting together for a meal or drink or something. Of course, this does depend on the support crews not staging a revolt but it seems a shame to rush home too soon after such a momentous occasion, particuarly when we unlikely to meet folk from far flung regions again for at least a year (if at all). |

Hey Tim, Marco and I were planning on staying over on Sunday night, but we weren't sure who else was. I'm always up for a celebration, so count me in. Debs |

Hi tim we're planning to stay up as well. I think that last year quite a lot of folk stayed on an extra night for a "wee soiree" so to speak. |

A great idea but I'll likely be tied up baby-wise on Sunday but could be tempted for a pint immediately after (or even before?) the prize giving. |

Excellent thread. We booked our flights last night, so we will be in Milngavie from wednesday (very late). Anybody there already at thursday to get together and have some beer? By the way Jens estimates beer (Weizen) as an excellent "isotonic drink", much of precious vitamines from the hop as well and perfectly for refuelling. I regard beer more like something that either tastes of not much or otherwise a good cure for inducing vomiting. Concerning after-race: we will stay in FW until monday morning. Concerning Jens´wallet: I even wouldn´t complain about him winning the 3l of malt (its not that I do not drink alcohol, I love single malts, just beer is like aechz..) BUT: We stick to paying the respect to the race that it deserves! I guess, in case he would win the race he would be THAT happy and proud that he would not care so much about the wallet... Looking foreward to meeting you all Maya |

I'd love to meet up afterwards, but I'm afraid my support team leader (the wife) will be whisking me back down the road to Otley, ready for Monday Morning back in the classroom If there were to be some kind of other 'reunion style event' sometime, then count me in! Looking forward to meeting everyone. Cheers Phil |

i am trying to arrange a post race evening at the Nevisbank, so those staying have a focal point on the sunday night to drink and chat. There appears to be quite a few runners marshals and supporters staying over sunday night. |

Hi Phil, Ian Beattie hosted a great post-race barbecue last year and plans to do it again. I'm sure he'll be along to announce the date soon. |

"i am trying to arrange a post race evening at the Nevisbank" Given the recent beer thread, perhaps the Grog & Gruel might be more appropriate!

If anyone is up for a pint in the Grog & Gruel after the awards ceremony I'm yer man. I'll have to shoot off after that with baby so no evening session. Ian - my wife and baby will be at your house on the 28th - thanks for the invite. |
