FLM
Any chance that any family members, or prospective ones, running the FLM this year wear something signifying their membership of the family (a WHW buff?). My mate and top support crew dude, not to mention quality entertainment's officer, Darrel Jacobs is running this year and could do with some encouragement en route (if you're yet to meet him, check out his antics on my blog). Also, I'm marshalling in the Dockhead area so any WHW Race paraphanelia will get you an extra cheer.

I was thinking of travelling down to cheer on Marco and Debs, and some folk from my running club. It's not far from MK. I'll check with the wife and maybe call you on the day to see where you are, to say hello. |

If I'm there, a cuppa would be dandy. Or even a pint - some Fullers would go down a treat. |

I will be running Dave - will look out for you. Where exactly will you be? I will be in a red top and if it's not too hot will wear the buff round my wrist. |

Any cheers will be most appreciated. Who's all doing London? I've got Marco and myself, Neal, Caroline, Shirley, Alyson and Gavin so far. I'm sure there's a few more..? Anyone fancy meeting for a beer (Leicester Square area) next Sunday evening? |

Hi Shirley, I'm not sure exactly where I'll be yet. I'm marshalling with the London Fire Brigade AC so it depends where they put me. I might not necessarily be the most desireable face to promote the Brigade's political aims so I suspect I might be cleaning the portaloos or something. If there is a WHW family meeting in Leicester Square I'll be there. Just post detail on here. |

I hope everyone who is involved in the London Marathon has an enjoyable and successful time. I'll be watching it on the telly while eating a large leisurely late breakfast (Good example of a multi-tasking male). And I trust folk will be kitted out in distinctive whw gear so that us armchair couch potato spectators can see you clearly. Let us know where you plan to be marshalling, Dave, so we can look out for you. Will you be squirting your hose over folk as they run / walk / crawl past you? Murdo

Hi Debbie - I have taken a note of your number (mine is 07780664592) and will maybe manage to meet up with you - it depends a bit on what the other runners in my party are doing. All the best to everyone anyway - may you all achieve the time you wish for but enjoy it even if you don't! Shirley |

Debs was 3.31.00 and Shirley was 3.32.01 Well done to everyone. It looked a good day for a marathon - looking forward to reading how everyone's race went. |

Well done Marco, Debs and Shirley. Excellent times! Apologies for not making it to Leicester Square. The battle through the crowds was too much after I saw the queue for the crossing point at Birdcage Walk and I ended up at Waterloo with my pal, Darrel who finished a little bit later. Darrel said he saw someone wearing a WHW race top at registration on Saturday. Who was that?? Check out my account of Darrel's run at: http://subversive-running.blogspot.com/ (Brian McIntosh...watch my hit counter soar like an eagle!!!) |

And well done Alyson Macp. Looks like Alyson, Shirley and Debs could be girlie-chatting all the way along WHW given their extremely close FLM times. Murdo

Thanks for all the messages of good will. I had a lovely run in the rain and was pretty pleased with my time. I am amazed by how close Debs and I were - looking at our split times we were 1 second apart at the 30k mark! It was a pity not to have met up in the evening but time suddenly disappeared and the curry was calling from the wrong side of the river! See you all soon. |

Congratulations everyone! What a perfect day for a brilliant race. Dave, where were you? Were you one of the hardy ones hiding in the fire engine at the first sign of rain? ;-) I also saw the WHW fleece at the expo...loitering around the comrades marathon stand. Talk about a Big Brother nation. |
