I have a question...
In the page: Life: The True Gamer, you do know that 120 yen is about twelve american cents, so it isn't really a big deal, right? I'm just wondering, 'cause it seemed like Sumaru and Koji made too much of a fuss over it... |

Of course I am aware of the low value of Yen in American currency, but I'm afraid that you're a bit off in your estimate. I've had many questions arise in the past because of that price, which is very little. When I made the comic back in March of 2003, the value of $1 USD was approximately ¥119.2, so the card ended up being about $1.00. I actually meant for the price to be ¥1200, which would've amounted to around $10.00, but 1) I never change typos in the comics, and 2) I believe that it adds to the humor of the scenario. As of June 19, 2006, the value of $1 USD was ¥115. If you want anymore information, just check http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yen#Historical_exchange_rate. Thanks for the concern, and I hope that you enjoy the rest of the comic! |
