Re: stanine grade

Stanine is short for "Standard Nine." It is a way of representing a standard score as a single digit, with a mean of 5 and a standard deviation of two. It shows where you rank relative to a comparison group. The percentiles corresponding to stanine scores are:

1 2.5
3 16
5 50
7 84
9 97.5
