Re: Re: Is there a market for on-line Psychological testing?

ThaNKS FOR THE REPLY. I am currently investigating the logistics and ethical aspects of this and I will get back to you if I have further questions etc.

It all depends on what you mean by psychological testing. There are many ethical & legal issues that would need to be addressed. For instance, what tests would you be using and for what purposes? Do you know that the tests are valid in their on-line form? How would you provide feedback -- would you meet with the client? If not, how would you deal with problems -- a suicidal patient or a negative reaction to test feedback? Would the security of the test content be protected? Would you allow people to take the tests in states in which you are not licensed to practice psychology? I'm all for the use of technology, but there are a lot of details to consider.

I am a psychologist and I have an interest in using online psychologicla testing as part of the services I offer on my website which I am in the process of developing.

What expereince have others had with this? Is there a market for this? I know a couple of companies who will set up this service for me, but they are expensive and I would like some idea of how much of a need for this service there is.

Thanks

Dianne
