Test Results
I recently took a MMPI-2 and the results say that I am, Anti-social, Militaristic, Empathic person with a chaotic lifestyle. Which is the complete opposite of what I truly am.And the lie scale and Macarthurs scale were high in my test. Is there any way that the test could be wrong in any case? The reason I am asking is that I am trying to get my son back from the state (Michigan) and the only thing stopping me is this test result. If anyone has a comment please feel free to do so, Thank you very much. Dave |

Personality tests, including the MMPI, have relatively low correlations with non-test behavior. They offer some insights, but are only useful when combined with history and clinical observation. "Anti-social" comes from scale 4 -- scale 4 elevations can also suggest authority conflict, or may simply reflect conflict in your family-of-origin. A high "Lie" score means you denied having certain minor, common faults. This scale is often high in forensic evaluations because it's human nature to put your best foot forward in a situation where there is so much at stake. Tests like the MMPI were originally intended for helping with treatment decisions. They have to be very cautiously interpreted in legal arenas. --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- Replying to: I recently took a MMPI-2 and the results say that I am, Anti-social, Militaristic, Empathic person with a chaotic lifestyle.
