Message:		NGA (formerly NIMA) helped fund SRTM so it could use it to update DTED level 2. I don't know if there's a separate DTED version without SRTM data in it, but SRTM DTED is now used by NGA. You might look for documentation about DTED on the NGA web site. -Tom Farr
