Message:   I'm a journalist with the Winnipeg Free Press, a daily in Canada and I'm looking for a satellite shot that will show a topographical feature known as Turtle Mountain.
I'm not good at mining data bases so I'm hoping someone will help me out.
I can offer a few facts about the feature itself:
Turtle Mountain straddles the border between North Dakota and Manitoba. So it's located at the 49th parallel in the northern American plains.
It's a moraine, left over from the last ice age and it rises a mere 100 feet above the surrounding country side of undulating hills. The turtle itself is 40 miles from tail to brow; nose to the west, tail to the east.
Fingers Crossed for Good Luck to find a compassionate data miner, I'll say thanks in advance,
Alex
