My son DeVonne, is a great kid!! With all the problems he has had this school year and with school years to come, he is still my SPECIAL BABY no matter what. I wanted to say THANK YOU on behalf of myself and three children, for all of the advise we have received from this site. I wrote a letter to our govenor of n.m.(Bill Richardson)in refrence to how my son has been mistreated at school, how he has been denied services over and over. Well he wrote back and e-mailed me and said he was opening a case in my sons name against the school district for what has been done and not done. 'm happy for the letter a got, but I am still having trouble in finding an attorney who would represent my son's case. I can't afford one by myself and legal aid here in Silver City N.M., is full and cannot take on any more case's! What else is there for me to do with the school year at the end!!!
Glad to hear things are moving in a positive direction. Be sure to print out, make copies and save that email from the governor. And since you can't afford an attorney, let the governor know. He seems to be on your side. Maybe you can get a pro-bono advocate or attorney. Contact some advocacy organizations and ask if they know of any.
