AFRO-HOLLYWOOD USA AWARD HELD IN NEW YORK
AFRO-HOLLYWOOD USA AWARD HELD IN GRAND STYLE IN NEW YORK The Afro Hollywood USA Award was held yesterday with funfare as cream of Nigerian Nollywood stars received awards in recognition of their talents. The award was held at the Nigerian Mission by the United Nations Plaza. The organizer Otunba Tai Balofin of US African Eye presented the award alongside Mr.Olaniyan of the Nigerian diplomatic corp. The 2008 award was a behive of activities as they thrilled the audience to standstill. The Nollywood Award stars who recieved the award includes. PASUMA WONDER- LEGENDARY AWARD LANRE TERIBA- ATORISE- BEST NEW GENERATION GOSPEL OLIVER MBAMARA- LEGENDARY AWARD TONY ABULU- BEST PRODUCER KINGSLEY OGUNDE- BEST GOSPEL VIDEO DELE ODULE- LEGENDARY AWARD PEJU OGUNMOLA- BEST LEAD ACTRESS MOJI OLAIYA- BEST FEMALE ACTRESS RONKE OJO- OSHODI OKE. GRAND GLOBAL ACTRESS SUNDAY OMOBOLANLE- ALUWE GRAND GLOBAL COMEDIAN JAMES OLANREWAJU OMIYINKA- BABA IJESHA. GRAND COMEDIAN ALHASSAN BABATUNDE TAIWO- OGOGO- GRAND GLOBAL ACTOR AMUSAN BOLAJI- MR.LATIN- INTERNATIONAL COMEDIAN IDOWU BAMISAYE- D'NOBLE- BEST GOSPEL SOLO ARTISTE YINKA AYEFELE- GRAND GOSPEL MUSIC COMMANDER AND LEGENDARY AWARD. The afro-hollywod award was presented by US African Eye in conjuction with the Federal government of Nigeria. The anchorman at the show was Sunmonu Bello Osagie who electrified the ocassion. The head of Chancery, Mr Olaniyan advised the Nollywood stars to play more prominent role in nation building. He further assured them that the federal government will look into the pirating of their movies. He further said that government will find ways to support their movies financially. Alhaji Ibrahim Auwalu the consul general of Nigeria said it is gratifying thing to see our movie stars advancing to grater heights with their talent. He said he was impressed with their accomplishments and congratulated them for the award. The Minister of Culture and National Orientation, Prince Olatokunbo Kayode congratulated the movie stars for making Nigeria proud in the United States. |
