Message:   Hi Chalmer,
I am the 6th of Andy's children.
I think the last time I saw you was at the Arizona reunion over 20 years ago.
I don't know the answer to your question about Papa's father bur I just wanted to say hi. I do know that my Dad's given name was Andy B. and that was supposed to be the name of his grandfather, not Andrew. Have you asked Uncle Sam or Aunt Carrie?

Hope you and your family are well.

Not to lay a bombshell on you, but we have found, through major health issues that have occured in several of my siblings and myself in our 30's, that there is a conditon called Arnold Chiari Malformation I (ACMI)that is genetic. We believe this came through Grandmom Whitaker (the probable reason she was in a wheelchair and so sick so many years). IT causes neurological symptoms because pressure is put on the brainstem and the cerebral spinal fluid becomes blocked as well. I encountered the same medical issue 6 years, and was in a wheelchair until 2 brain surgeries. It's a long story, but as it turns out, Duke University and the Harvey Institute of Genetics are doing research on our family to find out the DNA pathway. They are also puzzled as to why over 85% of Dad's kids and grandchildren are symptomatic.
This website is the one that did our diagnosis and surgeries.

It seems too lame to say I wish we could get everyone together for a visit, but I sincerely mean that.
God bless you.
