Northern Under 20 Championships
Cngratulations to all the Under 20 athletes who competed in the North of England Indoor Championships at Sheffield this weekend. There were many notable results but I think the 'Top oif the Show' goes to Alex Turner winning the Under 15 Girls 800m in a new Championship Best Performance. She actually set 2 CBPs - in heats and Final. On top of that she ran a 'truly gutsy' race leading from gun to tape. Abbie Vernon (Rotherham H.) also ran really well to finish 2nd after being 3rd at the bell but fighting her way back to the silver medal. There was much to savour over the weekend and the potential is there for the future. Consider how old you will be in 2012 - it is just 6.5 years to go. Could you be representing your country at the Olympic Games in your home country - what an achievement and honour that would be!!!!!!
